If your vacation time is limited or you'd just like to take
advantage of a long weekend, the
experience of riding in the Rockies is available to you. These
weekends are designed so that you arrive mid-day on Friday, we
pick you and your bike up and ride to Winter Park. We'll spend
3 nights and two full days touring from there as home base. On
Monday, we'll ride back over the mountains to turn in your bike
and to the airport for a late afternoon flight.
Saturday you'll have the pleasure of riding the highest continous
paved road on the continent: Trail Ridge Road. This twisting road
takes you through Rocky 
Mountain
Park and climbs through the pines and aspen trees to above timberline
where you'll be at an altitude of over 12,000' for several miles.
The road is fun and the views are spectacular! After lunch in
Estes Park you have the opportunity to explore the unique shops
and galleries in the village, then ride the pass back over to
Grand Lake where you can rent a boat or take a horeseback ride
before returning to Winter Park.
On Sunday your route will take you through the Arapaho National Forest on a nice twisty road nearly devoid of traffic. As you cross North Park (a moose reserve) you'll be able to see mountain ranges in the distance on both sides. Lunch in Walden. Then completing or adding to the loop to include Rabbit Ears Pass, Steamboat Springs and Gore Pass. Great riding and adjustable in distance to your mood.
Monday morning we'll meet for breakfast
and ride down out of the mountains over Berthoud Pass and the
Peak to Peak Highway along the front range of the Rockies back
to Longmont.
This weekend getaway was designed to get you into a relaxed western frame of mind and our lodging in Winter Park was selected with that in mind. You'll stay in a studio condo that includes an effeciency kitchen and patio opening onto a grassy area with the sounds of a small stream just a few feet away. A pool and hot tubs are available and we're about 4 blocks from downtown Winter Park with its unique shops, restaurants, and galleries. Much flexibility was built into this weekend for you to ride as much as you like, take alternate routes, or just sit on the porch.

Single prices provide you with a private room. We'll meet you at the airport, take you to pick up your bike and transport your luggage to Winter Park. You are welcome to ride or ship your own bike or make this a part of your summer grand tour. It can be arranged for you to keep your rental bike for several days before or after the tour if you wish to extend your vacation.
Tour includes airport transfers, lodging, support vehicle, professional guide, briefing of each day's route and alternates, detailed maps, all taxes and gratuities, dinner Friday and Sunday evenings. Information on road conditions, special events, local history, shopping, geology and wildlife are provided.
