Welcome, Race Fans! Pikes Peak Internation Raceway (PPIR) is sponsoring a round of the US Superbike Championships at the foot of the Rockies in Fountain, Colorado.
We've
set up a new tour this year to attend the weekend of racing. But
not just that - we'll ride several days of twisty mountain roads
before and after the races.
The tour will depart Longmont on Wednesday, August 22nd and head straight for the mountains. We'll ride several passes the first day and enjoy lots of great scenery. The village of Steamboat Springs is our first night's destination.
Thursday we'll ride more twisties and cross the Divide again ending up for the evening in Leadville at 10,000' altitude. You'll enjoy the historic aspect of this old mining town with its turn-of-the-century hotels, opera houses and saloons.
Friday we'll share some of our favorite secret backroads through Cripple Creek and the area behind Pikes Peak. The roads are very curvey and nearly empty. Where are all the people? They're on the other side of the mountain!
We'll arrive in Pueblo early in the afternoon on Friday. Our lodging for Pueblo was selected for its proximity to the race track (20 minutes away) and its selection of good restaurants within walking distance. The fact that there are two motorcycle shops next door helps the ambiance. We'll spend 3 nights in Pueblo. Some practice and activity is going on at the track today, otherwise Saturday and Sunday are full venuew of racing. Admission to the races and pit passes will be provided. Pueblo is hosting the annual State Fair during this weekend with many attractions and live music nightly.
Monday
morning we'll ride up into the mountains for more twisty roads.
Lodging will be in Fairplay, our favorite high-altitude mountain
town at 10,000'. Tuesday offers several options for a great ride
back down to Longmont.
The usual rental bikes are available for this tour as well as several other more sport-oriented bikes. Or we can assist with the shipping of yours. Call for info.

Single prices are based on double occupancy. If you prefer a private room, a supplement of $400.00 is required. Two singles may sign up as a couple and share a room.
