Sure, you can go on your own if you like. Maybe our schedule doesn't fit yours, or maybe you just like to ride alone. We'll share our secrets to make your next tour the best one yet.

We'll provide:

- daily itineraries with preferred routes and alternates, selected stops for sightseeing, fuel and recommended lunch locations.

- Daily route sheets will be provided describing the route, what to expect for altitudes, temperatures, travel time, speeds and so forth. We'll also describe your destination town with some history and background of the area.

- Recommended hotels are listed for each night, with approximate rate and phone number.

Where do you want to go? The information you receive mirrors our tours and uses the same route, lodging, etc. Your choice of the Colorado Rockies, The Land of Enchantment with Colorado and New Mexico, or the Canyon Roads tour of Colorado and Utah. Also offered but not scheduled as a regular tour this year is the Saguaros & Sombreros tour of Arizona.

Custom means custom. You tell me:

1. When you're coming. There are considerations related to altitude that dictate what months of the year you can comfortably tour here. May is too early for the Rockies, July is too hot for Utah...

2. Where you want to go, what kind of things you want to see.

3. What kind of bike you ride and the type of riding you like to do - cruisin', sightseeing, peg-scraping, some of each.

4. What kind of pace you like to ride. Our tours and the itineraries are adjusted to about 200 miles a day, sometimes less if there's a lot to see (the Utah tour has some days to about 265). In the mountains it's a full day of riding starting at 8:30 or so and arriving at lodging by 4:00 or 5:00. If you want to cover more or less distance, I'll offer alternate routes.

5. How many days you have to spend. The full itinerary for Colorado should be 8 or 9 days. New Mexico - 10 days, Utah - 11 days, Arizona -10 days. If you want the full experience, that's how long it takes. All can be shortened by one day (taking out the rest day in the middle). If you don't have time to do a full one, I'll work out a different route that fits you. If you want a longer tour, I'll recommend extensions.

When we get all this put together, you'll have a tour customized to fit your needs. You'll be getting the full benefit of our many years of experience.

"Dear Mike,
Let me start by saying your advice and assistance was absolutely INVALUABLE!! I would have never known how far to attempt to travel in a day and what sights were worth stopping. Monument Valley was great at sunset. Bluff, Utah was probably the most memorable part of my trip - the Petroglyphs are still vivid in my memory. The mountain passes were incredible. The temperature differences from top to bottom were dramatic to say the least! I rode the steam train in Georgetown, ate Prime Rib and won a little cash in Blackhawk and rode "Left Hand Canyon" twice. I will surely call you again in the years to come for more assistance on trips out west!"
Alex Levinson, Sullivan, MO.

"Dear Mike,
You created an 8-day itinerary for me and my wife and four of our friends.  From Denver you took us through Redstone, Bryce, Zion, Bluff to Durango, over the Million Dollar Hwy and through Gunnison to Denver again.  Every day provided highlights that would last forever.

I must tell you I can't find the words to describe the awesome beauty of the scenery we saw and the exhilarating roads we rode.  We covered 2150 miles.  Our only diversion from your itinerary was to ride up and over Independence Pass and down into Aspen on the way through Carbondale then to Redstone the first day of the tour.  Desert Pearl Inn in Springdale first class and the Leland House in Durango first rate also.  The other hotels were very quaint and had their own appeal.  We'll highly recommend your service and expertise to all others.  Maybe someday we'll have you map out another one for us."   Greg Miller, Cranberry Township, NJ

Custom Itineraries

As described above including daily itineraries, route sheets, maps, video, names and phone of all recommended lodging and customized to fit your needs. Typical price for an 8 day tour is $350.00, we will negotiate according to amount of customizing and length of tour.
