This tour was designed to immerse you in the high altitude and friendly attitude of Colorado. You'll be walking the streets of historic mining towns the first day - two miles high! Experience the dramatic mountain passes and extreme beauty found in the heart of Colorado.

You arrive on Monday. We'll provide a private dinner that evening to give you the opportunity to meet your fellow riders. A briefing of the tour will follow dinner, with mountain riding tips and discussion.

Tuesday morning after a gourmet breakfast, we'll ride up into the mountains and across the Continental Divide on our favorite backroads, taking a loop up to Leadville, where we'll stop for lunch and check out the turn-of-the-century surroundings. Over Tennessee Pass and Shrine Pass (your fourth mountain pass today). Down into the Colorado River Valley for a while, then up into the mountains again to our cabins in Redstone. We'll spend two nights in this delightful setting next to the aptly-named Crystal River. Our cabins are modern and quiet and a hot tub is located on the lawn next to the river. Relaxation and star-gazing at its best.

On Wednesday we have a route planned to Aspen and over Independence Pass, one of the most dramatic in Colorado and over 12,000' in altitude. You are free to ride more, spend time exploring Aspen, or just goof off.

Thursday begins with McClure Pass, then a great cruise down the Gunnison River Valley and through the fruit orchards of Paonia. Great twisty backroads all day ending in the 1880's mining town of Lake City. Here's the feel of Old Colorado, where you'll enjoy a mountain air and the historic buildings of this small mining town.

Friday offers several options depending on how much riding you want to do. We can go south and cover 3 more passes and the San Louis Valley, or go north 2 mountain passes for a shorter ride. Our destination for the evening is the town of Fairplay in South Park, our favorite unspoiled mountain town at 10,000' altitude.

On Saturday we ride the twisty route with two more mountain passes back across the divide and down to Longmont. You can depart on Sunday or extend your trip to include a few more days in the mountains.

Our route and lodging are designed to provide you with the best motorcycle experience possible. You'll spend your evenings in a mountain cabin or lodge room with great local ambiance. The friendly people and quiet surroundings create a good western feeling.

A total of 12 mountain passes crossing the Continental Divide 7 times.

Give yourself a genuine treat: ride for a week on the twisty roads of the The American Alps!
